Mountain Biking at Quarry Trails Metro Park Another great way to enjoy nature is to go mountain biking at Quarry Trails Metro Park at 2600 Dublin Road. There are several trails you can explore, and if you're not in the mood for an exciting bike ride, you can take your dog or cat on the paved trails in this park. Just keep in mind that your pets must be leashed, and the leash can't be longer than six feet. Rock climbing is also popular at this park. However, you need to book a guided program to climb. If you decide to go, be sure to bring a map, as there are no signs that tell you where the trail begins/ends. A pair of skis can be rented for $15. Although there are no designated trails in this nature reserve, a scenic viewing deck located right off route OH-95 offers great views of the surroundings. This small skills park has berms, rollers, drops, and even some small jumps. But don't let that intimidate you, this is the perfect place to practice these features before you ride them out on the trails. Phase II in Alum Creek State Park Once you've ridden the beginner loop a few times and are comfortable with most of the features in the Gnoomwood skills park, you're ready to move on to Phase II. This is one of the most popular trails in central Ohio, and riders should be prepared for some technical features. This is a 5.5-mile loop with over 700 feet of climbing. There are several skinnies, bridges, and a few log-overs, although some of these features are optional. Highbanks Multi-Use Trail If you would rather ride on pavement than dirt, Highbanks Metro Park's multi-use trail is a must-ride. This 2-mile out and back trail takes you through the beautiful and historic Highbanks Metro Park and through some woods and fields. The whole trail is paved and is open to hikers, joggers, bikes, and dogs. It also connects to the main road through the park, which completes the loop for people who don't mind riding on the road.
